Location

Sivile operates from Kokstad in KwaZulu Natal. Our projects and programmes serve large areas of rural KwaZulu Natal.

Our offices are located at the iThembalabantu Centre
Nelson Mandela Road
Shayamoya
4700 Kokstad
Kwa Zulu Natal

The iThembalabantu Centre built by Sivile and funded by Respond is strategically located on the periphery of the town called Kokstad, KZN in a low cost, government funded housing settlement called Shayamoya. The community of Shayamoya consists of approximately 3636 housing units that each measure twenty five square meters in dimension and are home to poor families averaging five members. Phase two of the Shayamoya settlement is under way which will bring another 180 houses and families into the area. Neighbouring Shayamoya, are the Bongweni and Horseshoe settlements which are less formally constructed, but also share the characteristics of being underprivileged marginalised and densely populated communities. The iThembalabantu centre was envisioned and built primarily to be a service and skills development resource for these and other broader communities..
