Life Skills Course

Life skills is not only about personal growth and coping skills, it is also about hope; seeking peace and healing from brokenness; a new perspective of self and human dignity.

It is the broad range of knowledge and skills needed by people to deal with every aspect of their lives. This knowledge and these skills can be grouped into three broad categories:

  1. Self
  2. Self-sufficiency and work
  3. Family and community

The overarching goals of a life skills programme should be to:

  • Help people better understand themselves and their potential as human beings with rights and responsibilities
  • Develop good social, problem solving, communication and relationship skills to deal with a range of issues.
  • Provide a range of skills useful to planning their careers, obtaining work and living a managed, meaningful life.
